Storage locations

Locations are the places you keep materials — a main warehouse, a yard, a container on site. Every movement happens at a location, and stock is counted per location.

Adding locations

Open the Locations tab and add each place you store stock, giving it a clear name. You need at least one location before you can record any movement, so if you have none yet the module prompts you to create the first one.

  • Drag to reorder — the order you set is used in every location dropdown.
  • Active / inactive — an inactive location keeps its history and still shows in Stock, but is hidden from the new-movement and transfer pickers.

Filtering by location

When you keep more than one location, a filter appears above the tabs. Pick a location to narrow the Stock and Movements views to just that place, or leave it on All locations for the whole picture.

Deleting is guarded. A location can only be removed while it has no movements at all. Once anything has moved through it, delete is blocked — mark it inactive instead so the history stays intact.

Frequently asked questions

Nothing is lost. The stock and its full history remain and still appear on the Stock tab; the location just stops appearing as a choice for new movements and transfers.

Deletion is only allowed for a location with zero movements. This protects the ledger — removing a location that stock has passed through would orphan its history. Deactivate it instead.
