Rental vs Estimate

Applies to version 26.99.5

REDZ.BUILD supports two billing models. Pick the one that matches how you agreed the job with your client.

Rental — labour by day-rate
  • Bill the client for the hours your crew works.
  • Charges flow from attendance × the project day-rate.
  • Best for time-and-materials and staffing.
Estimate — fixed scope
  • Agree a fixed price up front.
  • Bill in milestones or as a single fixed amount.
  • Best for turnkey jobs with a defined deliverable.

Estimate basis

An Estimate project bills either by milestones (staged payments you mark as paid) or as a single fixed amount. Like the mode itself, this basis is chosen at the start.

Locking rules
Mode and estimate basis lock once the project leaves Draft. A milestone's title and amount also lock once it moves past "awaiting payment" — only its status advances after that.
